Guwahati (Assam) [India], August 19 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of trying to create chaos in the country for political gain.
Sarma added that the Congress party in Assam has already accepted defeat ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
In a video post on X, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, 'The Assam Congress has already accepted its defeat in the upcoming assembly elections. Their president himself is saying that 'I am getting so many calls that the BJP is in contact with losing Congress leaders and leaders of other parties - but no one is talking to the Congress.'

'Rahul Gandhi, this person can go to any extent to create chaos in the country. Sometimes in the name of religion, sometimes in the name of the vote. I have never heard anything positive from him. And the way they supported Pakistan in Parliament it was crystal clear. The people will surely teach Rahul Gandhi a lesson,' he said
A day earlier, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced another milestone in the state's ongoing crackdown against illegal land encroachment, declaring that 55 acres of land in Biswanath district have been freed from unauthorised occupation.
In a post on X, Sarma described the operation as part of a sustained effort to reclaim Assam's land from illegal settlers.
He wrote, 'Another Day, Another Clean-up Drive. 55 acres of land freed from illegal encroachment in Biswanath, continuing with our crackdown against such illegal settlers. Reiterating our commitment to the people, EVERY INCH OF ASSAM'S LAND WILL BE FREED from the encroachers.'
Meanwhile, amid the ongoing large-scale eviction drive in various parts of Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma alleged that Congress was mourning for the infiltrators evicted during the encroachment drive. (ANI)
