JAKARTA, July 10 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed Thursday morning after a truck loaded with cement bags lost control and crashed into several vehicles and houses in a village in Indonesia's Bali province.
According to a preliminary report from local police, the accident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. local time in Banjar Bangklet village, Bangli region. The truck reportedly experienced brake failure, causing it to plow into nearby vehicles and residential homes.
Among the victims were three local residents and the truck driver, whose identity has yet to be confirmed.
Bangli Police Chief I Dewa Made Suryatmaja told local media that authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
Deadly road accidents are frequent in the Southeast Asian country, often attributed to overloading, poor road conditions, and reckless driving.
