PHNOM PENH, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's foreign trade volume hit 30.57 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of 2025, up 17 percent over the same period last year, an official report said on Thursday.
The kingdom's total exports amounted to 14.29 billion dollars during the cited period, a year-on-year increase of 16 percent, and total imports reached 16.28 billion dollars, up 18 percent, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise's report.
The Southeast Asian country's top five trading partners were China, the United States, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan, the report said.
Cambodia exported mainly garment, footwear and travel goods products, bicycles, dry rubber, milled rice, bananas, cashew nuts, mangoes, and longans, as it imported raw materials for garment, footwear and travel goods, petroleum, construction materials, automobiles and motorcycles, electronic products, consuming goods, pharmaceutical products and cosmetics, among others.
Ministry of Commerce's Secretary of State and spokesperson Penn Sovicheat said the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement and the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA) had boosted trade growth.
"These free trade agreements are catalysts for our long-term sustainable export growth," he told Xinhua. "With preferential tariffs provided by RCEP and CCFTA, our exports will continue to rise throughout this year and beyond."
