YANGON, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar reported 1,702 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 446,573 in the country on Sunday, according to a release from the Ministry of Health.
The death toll has increased to 17,073 on Sunday after 57 more deaths were reported, the release said.
According to the ministry's figures, a total of 398,220 patients have been discharged from hospitals and over 4.11 million samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far.
Over 3.47 million people had been fully vaccinated nationwide, while over 2.05 million people had received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines as of Saturday, the release said.
The first two COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Myanmar on March 23 last year.
