ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Senator Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, stated that all technical formalities and prior actions had been completed, but the IMF program faced a structural delay.
On Wednesday, he met with a delegation of Chambers of Commerce to discuss Budget 2023-24 proposals at the FBR Headquarters here. Dar stated that Pakistan would not default, and the coalition government was committed to completing the IMF program's 9th Review.
The delegation thanked the finance minister for inviting budget proposals from chambers of commerce and discussed the country's economic situation. It pledged its full support to the government's efforts to boost Pakistan's financial and business activities. In light of their various issues, the delegation made proposals for the upcoming federal budget.
According to Ishaq Dar, the government is working to create a business and people-friendly budget. He emphasized the importance of the business community and thanked them for their efforts and contributions to Pakistan's economy.
The delegation thanked the finance minister for taking the time to consider their budget proposals. Ishaq Dar stated that business community suggestions would be taken into account, as joint efforts were required to put the country on the path to economic stability.
