DHAKA, Bangladesh - Two Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) constables did not return to the country after training in the Dog Squad in the Netherlands, according to a police officer on Friday.
According to Amir Zafar, deputy commissioner of CMP, both officers are suspected of fleeing the camp to stay back.
He stated that on May 9, a team of eight Chittagong Metropolitan Police officers traveled to the Netherlands to participate in a 15-day training on Dog Squad management and operation.
However, the day before departure, two constables left the camp in the afternoon for a tour.
He said they had not been found since, adding that efforts are being made to locate them through the police headquarters and the foreign ministry.
The incident has been reported to the Dutch embassy and police headquarters.
