YANGON, Myanmar - In a press conference on Thursday, two ministers from Myanmar's National Unity Government (NUG) stated that their administration was compiling information on atrocities committed by the junta in Chin State to present to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
According to Dr. Sasa, Minister of International Cooperation, the NUG is collaborating with the Independent Investigative Mechanism Myanmar (IIMM) to share their evidence with the courts.
Human Rights Minister Aung Myo Min stated that the crimes would be notified to the UN Security Council in order to convince the body to impose restrictions on arms exports to the Myanmar regime.
Among the crimes being probed by the NUG is the killing of ten civilians earlier this month in southern Chin State's Matupi Township after being used as human shields by Junta troops.
